There are many scholarship and grant opportunities available to both prospective and current cosmetology students. Most scholarships and grants are awarded to applicants who demonstrate financial need and/or have outstanding academic records. To help you jump-start your search for funding, we've compiled a list of 25 cosmetology-related scholarships. Best of luck finding a scholarship that fits your needs! 

  1. Dream Shears and Trade Essentials Scholarship: Ten cosmetology students who are attending American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS) member schools will each be awarded $500 scholarships.
  2. Westmore Academy of Cosmetic Arts Makeup Scholarship: AACS and Westmore Academy have partnered to offer a tuition assistance scholarship to post-graduates who wish to pursue advanced cosmetology education. Applicants must demonstrate both academic excellence and dedication to their career.
  3. OPI Scholarships: Through the Schaeffer Family Foundation, OPI awards six $500 scholarships. Students must be enrolled in a cosmetology-related program at an AACS member school to be eligible to apply.
  4. Pat Goins Memorial Scholarship: Cosmetology students attending AACS member schools are eligible to apply. Three scholarships will be awarded to applicants in order to supplement their tuition and education expenses.
  5. Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation Scholarship: Applicants must be applying to attend cosmetology school or currently enrolled.
  6. NCA Sally Beauty Scholarships: Seven $1,000 scholarships are available for high school graduates who want to enter the cosmetology profession, and six $500 scholarships are available for current Professional Beauty Association/National Cosmetology Association members who want to pursue continuing education in the cosmetology field.
  7. American Health and Beauty Aids Institute (AHBAI) Scholarships: Applicants must have an 85 percent or higher grade average in cosmetology school and have completed a minimum of 300 credit hours to be eligible to apply. Scholarships are awarded through the AHBAI Fred Luster Sr. Education Foundation.
  8. American Association of Cosmetology Schools Grant: This scholarship is designed to help prospective cosmetologists begin their career in cosmetology. Applicants must hold a high school diploma or valid GED in order to apply.
  9. Access to Cosmetology Education Scholarship Program: In order to apply, applicants must be at least midway through their training at an AACS member school and be in good academic standing. The scholarship is provided by Sport Clips. Students will each receive a $1,000 scholarship if they have maintained at least 80 percent attendance and an 80 percent grade average, and can demonstrate financial need.
  10. Oregon Barber and Hairdresser Grant Program: Applicants must be residents of Oregon and plan to attend a licensed school of hair design, cosmetology, barbering, or manicure. Applicants must also demonstrate financial need.
  11. President's Scholarship: The President's Scholarship is open to any American Association for Esthetics Education (AAEE), Cosmetologists Chicago (CC), or International Nail Technicians Association (INTA) regular member. The member must be in good standing for at least one year prior to application.
  12. Liza Warner Scholarship: Scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors who are planning to attend the Orio School of Beauty or the Austin Beauty School.
  13. Robert & Irene Kimber Cosmetology Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded every year to a cosmetology major who is attending Idaho State University. The student must demonstrate financial need and have a minimum 2.0 GPA.
  14. Leone June Yardley Fund: Another source of funding for Idaho State University cosmetology students.
  15. City of Norwalk Cosmetology Scholarship: Applicants must be enrolled full time in the Cerritos College cosmetology program, maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, and have completed at least one semester of cosmetology courses in order to apply for this $500 award.
  16. John Pelloni Memorial Scholarship: Students must be enrolled in the Cerritos College cosmetology program (part time or full time) and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 in order to apply for these two $300 awards.
  17. NCEA Esthetician Scholarship: Applicants for this $1,000 scholarship must be enrolled in classes in an esthetician-only training program by the scholarship application deadline. They must also maintain at least 80 percent attendance and an 80 percent grade average.
  18. Diamond Beauty Products Scholarship: Cosmetology students currently enrolled in AACS member schools are eligible to apply. Applicants must be midway through their training and have maintained both an 80 percent attendance record and an 80 percent grade average.
  19. Alice Madden Barton Cosmetology School Scholarship Program: Current cosmetology students or high school students who want to pursue a career in cosmetology or barbering are welcome to apply.
  20. Great Clips Scholarship: Awarded to prospective students of cosmetology programs.
  21. Wright Beauty Academy: High school graduates pursuing a career in cosmetology are eligible to apply.
  22. Maureen Baldwin Cosmetology Scholarship: Cosmetology students enrolled at Highland Community College in Illinois are encouraged to apply. Eligibility is based on financial need and academic performance.
  23. Model College of Hair Design: Provides scholarships to qualified students. Based in Saint Cloud, Minn.
  24. Walla Walla Community College: Offers scholarships to incoming freshman pursuing a degree in cosmetology.
  25. CAPPS Cosmetology/Esthetician/Massage (CEM) Scholarship: Two $5,000 scholarships are available through the California Association of Private Postsecondary Schools Memorial Scholarship Fund. Applicants must reside in California, be in enrolled in a cosmetology, esthetician, or massage program at a CAPPS member school.
